The Church

Who are the Church?

Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Maschiach in Hebrew, is the founder of the Church and He is its Head and Savior. The word "church" comes from the Greek "ekklesia" which means "gathering" or "assembly." Therefore, the church is the gathering of the believers who come together to participate in fellowship with one another as they worship God and hear from His Word, the Bible. It is also used to identify the building used for worship.

What is a Lampstand?

In the book of Revelation, the last book accepted into the Christian Biblical canon, Jesus Christ explains to John that the seven lampstands are the seven churches. We took our name from that revelation, with the intent of being the light that burns; dispelling darkness, revealing Christ Jesus.

What is the Apocalypse?

Apocalypse (Greek Αποκάλυψη-Apokálypsi meaning revelation) is a disclosure of the knowledge of something hidden - “a vision of heavenly secrets that can make sense of earthly realities". This 'knowledge' is God's plan executed through Jesus Christ, as revealed in the Holy Bible. There is soon coming a day, foretold from the creation of time, when He will reveal Himself visibly and openly to all the Earth. About us

We are folks from all walks of life who've been reconciled to All-Creator God through Jesus Christ. As His children and consequently the custodians of all things Spiritual, we diligently study the Scriptures to know the times and seasons we live in.

Our mission is to make known the Scriptural foundations we have as an assurance and as a warning as the Day of the Lord approaches. We do this by preparing every believer individually to overcome as Jesus Christ commands us to.

The love of our Heavenly Father inspires us. There is no hype, no pretense, just truth in the inward being that compels us to live our lives to the fullness of His expectations.

The indwelling presence the Holy Spirit empowers us, knits us together, teaches us about ourselves, about how to overcome the vices we find in and around us, about living holy lives acceptable to our heavenly Father, so that we can be living testimonials of our Lord Jesus' love, power and goodness in the land of the living.

We gather together every Sunday. The hall where we meet is at the fourth (top) floor of the corner building (KCC) that is opposite to the Kacheripaddy Police Station on Chitoor Road.

Currently South Indian Bank has its offices on the lower floors and an ATM in the ground floor.

The Bible study for our children starts at 11am, and our main service starts half an hour later at 11:30 am. We normally end by 1:30pm.

What We Believe

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (Ephesians 2:8 NKJV)

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. Jesus Christ gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good ordained deeds.

Jesus reconciled us to God, our Heavenly Father, who has given us His Holy Spirit to stand fast in this freedom. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life and we are led by this Spirit of God.

We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

We demonstrate these things, teach, encourage and inspire the believers to do them as a community to reach out to the hungry, lost and needy.

Concerning the times and the seasons, we the Ekklesia of Jesus Christ, are sons of light and sons of the day and are not of the night nor of or in darkness. Therefore we watch and are sober. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is returning soon!

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NKJV)
